Welcome to Fripfrap! My name is Shannon, and I am a self-taught front-end developer. And here is my quick story how I got into coding and started this blog!

After high school, I had no clue what to do with my life. So I got into college and graduated as a communication’s major. I got a job in a cubicle, and that was it for a few years.

Until I had enough. I got tired and wanted a change in my career and life.

Accidentally I saw a YouTube video about learning to code, and that caught my interest. So, I started as a lot of others on Codecademy watching free courses. Then progressed towards Udacity and Treehouse tutorials teaching more advanced stuff.

It wasn’t easy working full time and studying after work, but I had a goal to get the dream job.

A year later I made it! Now I work as a junior front-end developer at a creative agency in New York and loving my life!

I have still a long way to go, there is so much to learn. JavaScript is my weakest link right now. I am not going to even start about all the “cool new” frameworks… But I am dedicated to getting better and keep progressing in my career.

This blog is my banter about learning to code and everything related to front-end development. If you are an aspiring front-end developer, hopefully, it will inspire you too to make a career change. And if you’re a junior maybe you can learn a thing or too as well!

So follow me on my journey to becoming a code ninja!
